Your Genevieve Fundraising orders have arrived!! You may pick up your orders during the following times:

 

* Wednesday, November 9th from 7:30am to 8:30am & 2:00pm to 6:00pm

* Thursday, November 10th from 7:30am to 8:30am & 2:00pm to 6:00pm

 

Your orders will be available for pick up in the hall behind the Gym. If you are unable to pick up your items during these allotted times, please, call me and we will make arrangements to get your order to you.

A Day At The Farm!

We had a great time visiting the Bread and Butter farm!  It was a rainy day but there were so many things to do and see that we didn't mind one bit!


We visited the greenhouse where we tasted fresh kale, Swiss chard, and cilantro.

We shook up cream until it turned to butter!

We met some chickens. 

We went in the special barn where the cows are milked.  We saw calves and....

...kittens!

We even met some pigs!

Before we left, we ate some fresh bread with the butter that we made.  It was a great day at the farm!

Hooray!

We were so excited when OUR honey cells filled the hive today!  Time for another school wide celebration!

Technology Helps Us SHOW What We KNOW!

Mrs. Flickenger helped us to use the iPads to make this video book.  We have learned a lot about bats!

CHAMBERLIN SCHOOL FOOD DRIVE

Our annual food drive has begun. 

If you would like to help, please send in a non-perishable food item to contribute to our collection.

We will have an assembly on Thursday, November 17 to see how we did!

REMINDERS!

On Wednesday, November 2 there will be a half-day for students.  Dismissal will be at 11:30.  School's Out will run for it's regular hours, until 6:00 p.m.  Students attending School's Out should bring a lunch from home. 


On Thursday, November 3 we will visit the Bread and Butter farm, right here in South Burlington.  We will leave Chamberlin at 9:45 and will return by 12:30.  Students should dress for the weather.  Boots are a good idea, but please remember a change of shoes for the afternoon.  We will be eating lunch at the farm as well, so please send lunch from home, including a drink. 

Bat Guy Comes to Kindergarten

Barry the Bat Guy came to visit in room 3. We learned a lot about bats.  Barry volunteers for the Vermont Bat Center where he rehabilitates injured or abandoned bats.  He had some amazing pictures to share with us. 

Foodplay!

Today we enjoyed a presentation of Foodplay.  The kids LOVED the performance and learned a lot about healthy food choices.  We were most surprised to learn how much sugar there is in soda.  Special thanks to Hannaford supermarkets for bringing this wonderful presentation to Chamberlin School!
