The Tricky Teens Visit Room 3

We had a real dilemma in room 3 this week.  The Tricky Teens visited us and we soon learned that 10 was having a party!  The problem was, poor 15 didn't get an invitation.  All week we heard from the Tricky Teens, and none of them seemed to understand why 15 had been slighted.  We asked over and over again to speak to 10 but she never showed up.

UNTIL TODAY....

Turns out it was all a big misunderstanding.  10 had dropped the invitation on her way to the post office.  15 WAS invited to the party after all.  As a matter of fact, we were ALL invited.  Here's a sneak peek of our antics at 10's party...

There's no telling what our next adventure might be!

Gold Medalists in Room 3!

Before the vacation, students at Chamberlin School participated in their very own Olympics. Events were held during PE classes and during lunch!  Participants were observed and scores were based on sportsmanship and perseverance.   Today, at our closing ceremonies, medals were awarded.

ROOM 3 FRIENDS WERE GOLD MEDALISTS!
Click below to see the dance party that broke out after the announcement.

Later in the day, medals were awarded.

Good things are happening every day in room 3!
Congratulations to all of our medalists!

100 Days of Fun in Room 3!

We had so much fun celebrating the 100th day of School!  Our day started with a parade.  All of the kindergarten kids marched around the school and into EVERY classroom wearing our crowns and playing our instruments. Everyone was so excited to see us.  Later, we celebrated in our classroom with a bunch of fun 100 challenges.

One challenge was to make a layered cake using 100 "candles" to hold up the layers.

Another challenge was to build a structure using 100 plastic cups.
We had a lot of fun with this one.

Shenanigans ensued!

It was a great day full of laughing, singing, dancing, creating and silliness.
Just the way kindergarten should be!

GRAND OPENING!!

It was an exciting day in room 3.  Today was the grand opening of The Friendly Slice!

Our hostess was ready to greet customers.

There were so many choices on the menu.  When one friend wanted anchovies, another said, "It's ok to pretend to like something, just for today!"

Our pizza chefs really knew how to work that dough!

Orders were carefully taken by our waitstaff.

We waited patiently for our pizza to bake.

Our customers LOVED it!  They even gave us tips!  We can't wait to serve more delicious pizza tomorrow!

Pizza Anyone?

We have been working hard to get ready to open our very own pizza restaurant.  We have thought of everything from the oven to the anchovies!  Here are some pictures of what we've done so far...

We worked together to build our very own "brick" pizza oven.

We drew pictures to be used in our menu.

We used our kindergarten spelling to add words to the menu.

We made posters and hung them around the school so everyone would know about our restaurant.

We made 10 different toppings for our pizzas.

We designed a logo to use on our menus and uniforms.

Tomorrow is opening day!  The reservations are pouring in!
Check back here tomorrow to see how it went!!

Look at the Rainbow Fish that we made!

Look at the birthdays in our class.
What do you notice?
When is your birthday?
Which month has the most birthdays?
Look for your friends' birthdays!

Remote Learning for the Week of September 21

Hello Kindergarten friends!
This week, you have 20 activities to choose from while you are learning at home.  I would also like you to watch the video that Miss Signorino made for us.  She has a BIG word to teach you!

Have fun and I will see you soon!!!

Listen to the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar again, then try some of the activities from your choice board that go with the story.

Here is Miss Signorino.
Listen carefully while she teaches you about a BIG word.  We will learn more about it when you come back to school.

Wow!  That was SO interesting!
I learned a lot, didn't you??

I will see you soon and we will explore SYMMETRY a little more!

September 16, 2020

We have been having so much fun together in room 3!

Here is a story for you to listen to.  It's about where our Monarch caterpillars are heading now that they've hatched and flown away.

Meet my friend Lucca.  He is a first grader at Chamberlin.
Last year, Lucca went to Mexico.
While he was there, he found the place where all the butterflies go.
Take a look at Lucca's adventure.

Tell someone at home about your tool box.

What's in it?  How do you take good care of your tools?

What is the PATTERN on our calendar?

What is this?  Tell someone in your family what you know about it.

Ms. Rouelle has a story for you too!

Be sure to check your learning menu for more fun activities.
I will see you soon!!

Week 11 Thursday

Oh my GOODNESS!!
I was SO happy to see you yesterday!!

Here's a short video of Heaton getting a "hug."

Remember that birds' nest in Gunner's tree?
Well, if you look close, you'll see the babies!

I found another good story about pets!

On Friday, my daughter Sarah and her friends will graduate from the high school.  There will be a parade from the school to the fairgrounds in Essex where the graduation will be held.
The parade (which will include emergency vehicles) will leave the high school between 4:00 and 4:15 and go down Kennedy Drive, cross Williston Road, past the airport, down White Street to Airport Parkway and Lime Kiln.
It would be AMAZING to see the streets lined with neighbors  cheering our seniors on.
This has been a long road for them!

PLAY, PLAY, PLAY ALL DAY!!

Remember, everything is going to be ok!
